About Felicity

I live on a farm with my husband near to Alexandria in the Eastern Cape, and I am fortunate to have my leather studio right next to my home. I have four adult children and four grandchildren, all living in the Eastern Cape. My daily workshop companions are a variety of dogs, cats and birds, and an abundance of wildlife and a couple of horses can be seen from my window.

I bought a Tandy starter kit when I was 16, and over the years I have added to my tool collection and have made many belts, wallets, handbags, hats, coasters, rifle slings, wine carriers, and so on but I find myself now focusing on knife sheaths. Back then we learnt through books we bought and studied, but the arrival of the internet has been a huge source of information and has opened up so many doors to connecting with other leather workers around the globe. The inspiration and advice received has been astonishing.

I was recently awarded an Associate Membership to the Knife Makers Guild of Southern Africa, of which I am very pleased and excited to be a part of.

I belonged to the Leather Workers Guild of South Africa in the 1990’s, but currently there is no leather guild in South Africa.
